Projects
- Expression of Ape1/Ref1 in chronic liver diseases and its role in primary
liver carcinoma. Study of the cellular mechanisms and of the oxidative
stress involved in chronic liver diseases and mechanisms with particular
attention being given to the expression of Ape1/Ref1.
- Multiple biopsy project: study of the epidemiological profile of
chronic liver diseases, of primary liver carcinoma and of histological-molecular
models which could be the basis of these pathologies.
- Study of Hypobetalipoproteinemia in steatosic patients: Study of
the role of familial hypobeta-lipoproteinemia (FHBL) in hepatic steatosis
in families with this gene mutation (Study in collaboration with the University
of Modena).
- HLA study in patients affected by primary biliary cirrhosis (Multicentre
study). Multicentric study of the distribution amongst the principal geographic
Italian areas of the HLA-DRB1*11 and HLA-DRB1*08 alleles to obtain answers
about the possible role of the HLA genes in progression of the disease.
- FIST: Genomics and proteomics of the normal and pathologic liver:
identification of the genes involved in the cellular cycle, in metabolic
control and in membrane transporters in subjects with viral hepatic infections.
- HCC diagnosis and surveillance: Study of chronic liver diseases
and modes of radiological and heamatological follow up for early diagnosis
of hepatocarcinoma.
- Project Dionysos Follow-up: Natural history and complications of
liver diseases at Cormons (GO) and Campogalliano(MO).
