A series of strategic initiatives are underway thanks to a significant increase in the contribution of the FVG region

Statements by the President of the FVG Region Massimiliano Fedriga and the President of the FIF Decio Ripandelli

The Fondazione Italiana Fegato Onlus (FIF) is preparing to undertake a series of strategic initiatives, made possible thanks to a significant increase in the regional contribution for the three-year period 2025-2027, established in the recent stability law. The President of FIF, Decio Ripandelli, expressed deep gratitude to the President of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region. Massimiliano Fedriga, to the councilors Riccardi and Rosolen, as well as to all members of the Regional Council and Executive Committee for the support provided.

The Italian Liver Foundation is an excellence of Friuli Venezia Giulia that, over time, has been able to establish collaborations also realizing important international projects” – confirms the President of the Region, Massimiliano Fedriga – “An intense activity that has enriched our health system, thanks to research, training and education initiatives aimed at all segments of the population. For this reason we have decided to strengthen our financial support aimed precisely at implementing scientific activities and allowing the stabilization of researchers who play a fundamental role. Starting from the excellent results – added the governor Fedriga – that have been achieved in the recent past, it is therefore important to strengthen the collaboration between the Region and the Italian Liver Foundation, ensuring this reality the possibility of growing further thanks to the promotion of good practices and the creation of new opportunities not only for our region but for the entire country”.

The President of the Foundation, Decio Ripandelli, emphasizes how this result is the result of teamwork, highlighting the contribution of Vice President Giorgio Soardo, Scientific Director Claudio Tiribelli and all the staff of the Foundation. "The shared goal is to further raise the profile of FIF, consolidating it as a point of reference in the Italian hepatology network and among the main international interlocutors for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of liver diseases. The increased regional support is intended to stabilize research staff and enhance scientific projects, in addition to training, information and dissemination activities aimed at citizens. This funding could act as a catalyst for the entry of new members into the corporate structure and for the expansion of collaborations with national bodies, in particular through the Conference of Regions, chaired by Fedriga himself".

Among the notable initiatives promoted by FIF, the food education campaign carried out as part of the “Movimento in 3S” project of CONI Friuli-Venezia Giulia, supported by the Region (which will be presented as a virtuous example at a Nutrition congress in Athens in February), and the “O-liver” research project, developed in collaboration with the National Association of Oil Cities, stand out. These experiences represent virtuous models to be proposed both nationally and internationally, as demonstrated by the adaptation of the food education project in the Philippines, calibrated to local specificities.
The Italian Liver Foundation NPO is thus preparing to further consolidate its role as a leader in the national and international scientific, healthcare, and educational landscape, supported by renewed institutional backing and a strategic vision centered on innovation and collaboration.
