  • To identify the early molecular mechanisms responsible for the neurons loss .
  • to identify new therapies able to slower the progression or avoid the onset of the disease. Including the repositionig of currently used drugs.
  • To improve the diagnosis.

We aim to identify the early mechanisms responsible for the loss of the dopaminergic neurons (DOPAN), causing the motor disfunctions, and to investigate the potential protective role of bilirubin and other natural compounds against DOPAN loss. Moreover, we actively evaluate the efficacy and safety of nanovectors for delivering such compounds into the brain cells.
