Natalia Rosso

Senior Scientist

Group Leader NASH/NAFLD

Graduated in Chemistry at the University of Cordoba (Argentina), she obtained her doctorate in molecular biomedicine at the University of Trieste, Group Leader of the NASH/NAFLD Research Group

Her professional background is focused on translational research in the field of NAFLD, with proven experience in the development of in vitro systems (from monocultures to more complex co-culture systems), in vivo models and translation in human subjects. For the past eleven years, my role within the organization has been to lead a multidisciplinary research group consisting of masters and PhDs. students, PhDs and doctors. You have successfully participated in collaborative projects with external collaborators from different but complementary fields of study.

Current scientific interests can be summarized 1) the molecular mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of liver disease 2) the extrahepatic components involved in the onset of NAFLD 3) the study of the bioactive properties of natural compounds as a therapeutic approach 4) the in-silico detection and in-vivo validation of non-invasive biomarkers for the early diagnosis of liver fibrosis 5) communication of science to the non-scientific public
